Targeted, evidence-based dry needling from a certified specialist — release stubborn muscle tension, calm chronic pain, and get back to moving freely. One-on-one care, no insurance gatekeeping.
If you’ve been chasing the same knot, the same headache, or the same nagging injury for months — dry needling can break the cycle. Dr. Jocilyn uses thin filiform needles to deactivate trigger points, calm overactive muscles, and reset the tissue so it can heal.
Dry needling is rooted in modern neuroanatomy and orthopedic research — not traditional Chinese medicine. We insert sterile, single-use filiform needles directly into a tight muscle band or trigger point. The local twitch response that follows releases the contraction, restores blood flow, and quiets the pain signal at the nerve.
Most patients feel a release within minutes and improved mobility immediately after. Dry needling is typically combined with corrective exercise, manual therapy, or cupping for a complete recovery plan.
Doctor of Physical Therapy with certification in dry needling. Jocilyn blends performance-training experience with evidence-based clinical care — perfect for athletes and anyone tired of chronic, stubborn pain.
For more stubborn pain, chronic trigger points, or athletes pushing for a faster recovery, we add gentle electrical stimulation to the dry needles — known as electro needling, electro dry needling, or dry needling with electrical stimulation. A low-level current is run between two needles, producing a sustained, rhythmic contraction at the trigger point.
The result: dramatically increased blood flow, a deeper neuromuscular reset, and longer-lasting relief than dry needling alone. It’s especially effective for chronic pain that hasn’t responded to standard treatment, lingering sports injuries, and deeper layers of muscle dysfunction.
Dry needling and muscle cupping (also called myofascial decompression) are often used together because they attack muscle dysfunction from opposite directions. Where dry needling sinks into a trigger point to release it, cupping pulls up on the tissue — creating negative pressure that decompresses the fascia, increases circulation, and accelerates recovery.
For stubborn tightness, post-workout soreness, scar tissue, and chronic injuries, the one-two punch of needling plus cupping gets results faster than either alone. We’ll recommend the combination whenever it makes sense for your goals.
